Dr. Jonah Pyo, originally from California, received his Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the University of California, Davis in 2017. After discovering that there were doctors for animals—something he thought was “just cool”—he decided to pursue veterinary medicine. He went on to earn his veterinary degree from UC Davis in 2024.

During veterinary school, Dr. Pyo developed a strong interest in emergency medicine, general practice, and exotic animal care. He enjoys the fast-paced nature of ER, the continuity and relationships that come with GP, and the opportunity to work with a wide variety of species—especially those that often receive less attention than dogs and cats. He joined our team after graduation to pursue these interests and contribute to a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Pyo enjoys gardening, exploring both the outdoors and the city, playing video games, trying new restaurants, and spending time with friends and family. He shares his home with a tuxedo cat, several fish, and raises silkworms each year—often seen foraging for mulberry leaves around town.
